As you all know by now, the 2020 Annual MFMC Convention that was to be held in Grand Rapids, had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Much thought went into this decision especially since the decision had to be made just as the pandemic was coming to a peak and the convention was two months away.
The outstanding reasons for the cancellation were:
- The gathering and distancing restrictions
- The average age of our travelling members
- The hotel fees that MFMC would have to pay if we waited to see how this health scare panned out
These were the most important items we took into consideration. The hotel was very accommodating in trying to work with us in an attempt to keep the convention on the calendar. But, in the long run, cancellation was our only option.
The good news is that the 2021 MFMC Convention will still be held in Grand Rapids, and most presenters and speakers that were on our program have agreed to be with us in 2021! Carolyn Nelson, past NFMC President, will also be able to be our NFMC guest. The Doubletree Hotel has agreed to keep room prices and food prices the same!
So, please mark your 2021 calendars now, to attend the MFMC Convention on May 21-22, at the Doubletree by Hilton in Grand Rapids. See you there!
