2022 June CounterPoint
Dear MFMC Members,
Many thanks are in-order for the wonderful 104th Michigan Federation of Music Clubs Annual Convention. First, thank you to the many MFMC members who took the time from their busy schedules to attend. It was great to see so many members after two challenging years. Also, thank you to Deborah Freeman, National Federation of Music Clubs President. What an honor for MFMC to have our NFMC President as our national guest!
Next, thank you to our Convention Committee chaired by Beatrice Wassenberg for their many hours of planning and preparing. Committee members included Priscilla Marino, Northeast District President, Mary Irvine, Recording Secretary, and Hazel Lawrence, Treasurer.
Many hands and hearts go into preparing for such an event and that was displayed by the Senior Clubs of the Northeast District. St. Cecilia Society, Flint made and set-up the beautiful table arrangements for both lunch and dinner. The Birmingham Musicale donated a Macy’s gift card basket. The Port Huron Musicale provided the carnations for the memorial service. The Tuesday Musicale of Greater Pontiac donated welcome flowers and goodies for both the NFMC and MFMC President. The Owosso Musicale provided registration bags for each attendee. In addition to all of this, each Senior Club donated a beautiful basket for the raffle.
Also, many thanks to Mary Ann LaMonte for coordinating the Meadow Brook Hall tour. Thank you to Susan McDonald for preparing the Convention CounterPoint, Amy Lyon for preparing the Convention Booklet and Steven Mastrogiacomo for preparing Profiles. Thank you to Judy Unick for coordinating the gift basket raffle and making sure we all bought tickets.
Finally, thank you to the MFMC board members for their support and guidance in my first convention as MFMC President. I am most grateful for your support. And now, it’s time to start planning the 105th MFMC Convention!
